Xumeu Planells is manager of data science for LexisNexis® Risk Solutions. In this role, Xumeu is responsible for building and designing data-driven solutions and products with the highest possible statistical rigor. Xumeu has been with for LexisNexis® Risk Solutions for nearly six years.

With a PhD in physics, he is highly experienced in data analysis, research, mathematics and statistics. Xumeu is also one of the business’s leading experts on the applications of AI for insurance. In addition to helping customers gain deeper insights into their risk portfolios, Xumeu provides technical leadership on best practices and regulatory considerations in machine learning and AI techniques and processes. He also works closely with multiple data providers to assess the value of investing in new data sources—either by developing proprietary data products internally or by partnering with third parties.
