Tracesmart was nominated by its charity partner, Missing People, which brings missing children and adults back together with their families. Through in-kind donations, Missing People has been given access to the TraceIQ tool, Tracesmart’s powerful web-based tracing and investigation facility, to help families who have been estranged or ’grown apart’ from loved ones to get back in touch.
This technological support enables staff and volunteers at the charity to check the validity of addresses supplied by families who want to re-establish contact with a family member. The ‘lost contact’ page of Missing People’s website receives the second highest number of visitors, indicating the demand for this service. In 2013/14 Missing People conducted 402 new lost contact searches and successfully identified 129 people.

The service delivery team benefit from the partnership on a daily basis when supporting families who are out of touch to reunite.
“We start all ‘lost contact’ enquiries by using the TraceIQ tool to check for a current address or verify an old one. It is a speedy and effective way to search that enables us to offer people the opportunity to reconnect with their loved ones.”
Tracesmart also has provided data cleansing of Missing People’s supporter database, allowing the charity to segment its donors accurately to streamline its individual giving programme. This has created considerable savings in time and money, allowing for more accurate and targeted communication with donors.
