Widely believed to be one of the fastest growing types of fraud, synthetic identities are expected to surge in the UK as the PSR reimbursement code makes it harder for organised criminal groups to cash out with mules.
Our analysis is uncovering evidence of industrial-scale manufacturing and maturing of synthetic identities in synthetic farms and factories across the UK, using readily available PII from data breaches. Synthetic identity fraud is a stealth opponent, feeding on opportunities to hide within the emerging consumer sector and go undetected by traditional fraud prevention tools.
In this keynote session filmed at Trust:Live on 11th June 2024, we examine the hallmarks of a synthetic and how sophisticated modelling can help to unmask synthetics and stop them in their tracks.
